  • What I like MOST about working at Ewa Beach Physical Therapy: I love the fun and uplifting atmosphere of our clinic. Our staff has a genuine desire to help people get their lives back and we truly enjoy helping people feel better in mind, body and spirit.  We love seeing people smile!

What do you like most about working with patients?

  • I enjoy helping patients return to a higher level of function through education and training. It’s very satisfying to see how far patients progress with physical therapy, whether it is improving in ROM, strength, balance and/or functional mobility.

Why did you choose to become a physical therapist?

  • My first degree was in Textiles, Clothing and Design. I liked the creative aspect, but felt that I wanted to do something that would continue to inspire and motivate me to do better. I enjoy working with patients during their rehabilitation process and always find myself inspired by their will and desire to reach their goals.

  • I love the fun, friendly atmosphere of our clinic, and I really
    enjoy being able to help people in our community move and feel better.

  • I enjoy being a part of a patient’s journey to improve themselves,
    increasing their ability to move, restoring their function, and getting them
    back to doing what they love to do.

Why did you choose to become a physical therapist?

  • I chose to become a physical therapist because I wanted to help
    people progress through their limitations and make a difference in their lives.

  • What I do as a career is be a part of a person’s life and walk & talk with them. I get paid to be a listener & hear people’s stories, and then help them help themselves get better.

What are some of your personal interests, outside of work:

  • Outside of work I enjoy surfing, hiking, cooking & watching History & Discovery. I like finding hole in the wall places to eat in Hawaii. (Usually the best.)

What are some things you believe in?

  • It can be a favorite quote or words of wisdom, etc. something that identifies you: I am a Christian. Favorite quote: “Never give up.”

What do you like most about caring for patients:

  • I personally enjoy the fact of patient individuality. I really enjoy hearing people stories about their lives & life’s gems.

Why did you choose to become a physical therapist assistant or therapy position:

  • I actually wanted to be a botanist. In the end I found out people have better conversation then plants. Honestly I like seeing people get better.

What do you think patients like most about you:

  • I believe patients enjoy that I am easy to talk to. I am empathetic & am able to convey I want them to reach their goals.

  • I believe people enjoy our friendly & welcoming atmosphere at Ewa beach Physical Therapy

  • My job allows me to help people feel better, both physically and spiritually.

What are some of your personal interests outside of work?

  • Outside of work I like to dive/fish, play basketball and football, or just hangout with friends.

What are some things you believe in? Or a quote:

  • “Sometimes it’s the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination”

What do you like most about working for this organization?

  • Definitely my coworkers. It’s always a fun, positive, and friendly feeling being alongside them. Never a dull moment between us.

Why did you choose to become a physical therapist assistant?

  • My interest initially stemmed from sports and human anatomy. Actually getting the chance to work with patients and seeing the difference I could make solidified my choice to become a PTA.

What do you think patients like most about you?

  • I feel like I am very relatable and I have the ability to connect with any patient no matter what background they are coming from.

  • I help provide a way for people to return to their normal lives.

What are some of your personal interests, outside of work?

  • Diving, sports, hiking, and lifting weights

What do you like most about working for this organization?

  • Everyone is friendly which makes work not feel like work.

What do you like most about caring for patients?

  • Getting to know people and their stories, being able to watch them improve and sharing in their joy when they are able to return to their lives.

Why did you choose to become a PTA?

  • The impact my PT had when I was in therapy after a knee injury in high school. I could see how much he cared and it felt like me getting better was just as important to him as it was to me.

 


John Paul Tolentino

Describe the essence of what you do in your job?

  • My job is to guide and educate clients through their rehabilitation. I educate clients about their injury which helps them understand what they’re dealing with. Through this guidance, they are able to overcome their injury with exercises, stretches and our warm support.

What are some of your personal interests?

  • I enjoy cooking, attending church with my family, and driving around town looking for good/ono foods.

What are some things you believe in?

  • “Don’t do unto others what you don’t want done unto you.” – Confucius

What do you like most about caring for patients?

  • Being a part of their life by helping them overcome their injury and be positive on the progress they’ve made.

Why did you choose to become a physical therapist or therapy position?

  • I’ve always wanted to help the people around me. Every job out there does it, but not as personal with physical therapy.

What do you think patients like most about you?

  • I’m a good listener. I love hearing stories from people I’m working with and sharing some of mines. I believe that it creates a special bond that helps with their rehab along the way.

  • I enjoy watching various sporting events on TV or live. I also enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and family.

  • I like being surrounded by a group of professionals who are dedicated to contributing to the well being of the patients in our community.

  • I feel that patients like our clinic for the “family” atmosphere. Our staff truly believes in caring for the well-being of the patients and the patients can feel their positive vibes.

  • I’m proud to be a member of the Ewa Beach Physical Therapy Team. They are my family away from home! The camaraderie in the atmosphere is very gratifying.

What do you like most about working with patients?

  • Our patients become our friends. They become part of our family. To see new patients come in unsure and reserved, then leaving with a smile makes me very happy. It’s like magic!
